Examinations

pediatric first visit

We will gently examine your child's teeth and gums. Radiographs (x-rays) may be taken to reveal decay ("cavities") and to check on the progress of your child's permanent teeth under the gums.

We may clean your child's teeth and may apply a topical fluoride varnish to help protect the teeth against decay. We will make sure your child is receiving adequate fluoride at home. Also, our team will review with you how to clean and care for your child's teeth.

Finally, our doctors and team will begin the process of helping your child to feel comfortable in the dental office. Children who begin their dental experience early almost always become the most confident patients for years to come.
